What kind of wineskin are you becoming? In today’s world there are all kinds of influences to shape ones personality and character. Many of them seem righteous and noble. But when Christ is beckoning an individual to become something new, confusion begins. In some cases a church member may be ostracized for obeying Christ instead of man. That’s why it is crucial to know God’s voice for yourself. He wants to lead you out of tradition, which is faithless doctrine and into His supernatural life which requires faith and intimate knowledge of Christ.

After we have been introduced to our Savior through a pastor or minister it is our responsibility to become familiar with Him through His word and learn how to commune with Him directly through our own spirit. We have been conditioned to believe that only the pulpiteers hear the divine voice of God. But Jesus said, “The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” (John 14:26). As individual believers we all have a unique pathway to Christ and His destiny for our lives. If we stay dependent on someone else’s relationship with Christ we will live an unfulfilled and fruitless life. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be my disciples.” (John 15:5-8). So we must become disciples of Christ not disciples of a certain denomination, or tradition.

“And He said, go out and stand on the mount before the Lord. And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire [a sound of gentle stillness and] a still small voice.” (I Kings 19:11-12 Amp.). There are many strong and powerful voices that speak with great authority but are not Holy Spirit inspired, thus many are deceived by them. There are also those who depend on an inner voice or intuition to guide them, but to settle for having a voice as a guide risks being deceived by demonic spirits. It is important to form a personal and direct relationship with God because only He knows what our divine destiny is and how to guide us down the right path.

God’s voice is not logical. Yes, God may tell you to leave your job though you may not have any backup or support. Yes, God may tell you to leave California and move to New York City with no place to live, no money, and no family or friends. What do you do? Obey God. His hands are big enough to carry you. He is creating your new wineskin. Don’t listen to man. Don’t listen to logic. Listen to God. Trust Him. “My thoughts are not your thoughts. Neither are your ways my ways says the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” ( Isa. 55:8-9 amp). “Do not earnestly remember the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it shall spring forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19 Amp.)

Our cut, shape, and form are not like anybody else’s. Christ says in Mathew 9:17 Amp. “Neither is new wine put in old wine skins, for if it is, the skins burst and are torn in pieces, and the wine is spilled and the skins are ruined. But new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved.” A life lived by Grace is a symbol of new wineskin. A life lived by the Law is a symbol of old wineskin. There are new methods, styles, and avenues the Lord Jesus is able to use because we operate through His righteousness. “There is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus (Grace), who do not walk after the flesh but after the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1).

Jesus may be calling many of His disciplined followers to the entertainment industry where the Light of Christ is desperately needed. All forms of the performing arts are meant not only to praise the Lord but to also manifest the myriad wonders and beauty of the human being as God’s creation. God uses the performing arts as a language of the heart that reveals His heart to ours. His creativity through us in the form of acting, singing, dancing, and musical performance, serves to delight and enlighten the soul, and also, to turn men’s hearts to the Father. Though the devil has distorted God’s purpose for the performing arts in many areas of the entertainment industry the Father is restoring His purpose even now.

In order for new wine (effervescent life), His Life to come in, the heart and mind have to be renewed. That not only means transformed from the thought patterns of this world but also transformed into a unique vessel that only the Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) knows about. But going to church and listening to the preacher is not enough to transform you. Relying on intuition is not enough to guide you to your divine destiny. There has to be a relationship with the source within your heart. The more intimate we become with Jesus the less we will be fooled by winds of doctrine even though they may seem strong enough to break rocks of strongholds. Legalism and fiery preaching can seem to be just what we need to match our fiery passions and rebellious spirit, but the Lord revealed to me, that is of the old wineskin. That is self-effort. Be still and know that I am God is what He says. Hear my still small voice. Yes, that which you have been calling intuition is I. Get to know me and you will find that in doing so you will get to know yourself. No one knows you like I do. Yes, I am ready to do a new thing in the earth. I am ready to pour out fresh wine. My power will be poured into those who have forsaken the world’s pattern and followed Christ’s pattern. Learn of Him and receive real life, supernatural life, and Eternal life.

God is ready to pour out New Wine (The power of His Spirit with signs and wonders), but we must have new wineskins (A transformed heart and mind, dependent upon Grace not the law) to receive the new wine. Only Jesus can transform us by His resurrection power, through the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. He is ready. The veil has been rent from top to bottom. However thick our veil is Christ can breakthrough it so we can experience Him for ourselves.
